Friends of the Smokies

Preserving the History of the Smoky Mountains

Since 1993, Friends of the Smokies has raised more than $75 million to fund historic preservation, wildlife management, environmental education and more in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. To bolster these efforts a new program was started to aid in the restoration and maintenance of the historic structures within the park. We were asked to create a name and brand for this new initiative.

We created the name Forever Places to serve as a logical companion to its existing program, Trails Forever. Then, we developed a family of marks that reflect some of the iconic structures within the park, and accompanying distinctive graphic elements that invoke mountain heritage and history.
